Word produces mail merges as a single document with every record inside it, one after another. Anyone who has had to send those records out one by one has already done this by hand. MailMerge Splitter does it in one pass, naming each file from a field you choose — and it does it on your computer, because the documents being split are usually the kind that should not be uploaded anywhere.

The useful details
One file per record
Takes the single .docx that Word produces with Edit Individual Documents and splits it into one file per record.
Names that mean something
Each file is named from a field you choose, so the result is a folder you can actually use instead of a numbered list.
DOCX or PDF
Export in either format, in a single pass over the document.
Nothing leaves the machine
The documents are processed locally. The only thing the app sends is a handful of anonymous counters — never content, file names or paths.
On Windows, from the Microsoft Store
Signed and published, so it installs like any other application — no warnings, no administrator. There is also a portable ZIP for machines that block installers, and an MSI for IT-managed deployment.
On macOS, a direct download
There is no Apple certificate for it, so macOS will not open it on the first try: download it, then open it from the Finder with the right button and choose Open. It is the same application, and it is free the same way.
